Billy started playin music at the age of 7 on the five string banjo. Having a desire to play all things stringed, he then moved on to guitar in his teenage years, then took up mandolin, dobro, fiddle,bass, lap steel, and pedal steel. He is well versed in all styles of music, including bluegrass, blues, rock, jazz, irish, americana, you name it. He has played professionally for the last 20 years, playing in 38 states in the U.S., 9 countries in Europe, and two tours of Ireland and his passion for playing music and performing live is endless!

Charismatic to the utmost, his goal is to always spread positive vibes through music and his smile on stage will tell you that before he even says a word. He has been a member of many great groups including Stonehouse, Crazy Fingers, The Grass is Dead, Almost Acoustic Band, the Hickory Project, Aquaphonics, the Brittany Reilly Band, Quartermoon, the Virginia Daredevils, and now of course, Uproot Hootenanny!
